Exterior Detailing In Sedona, AZ

Everything outside the door seals, done by hand. No brushes, no tunnel, no swirl marks.

Exterior detailing from Pro Star Detailing is a two-bucket hand wash followed by iron and clay decontamination, full wheel and tire service, streak-free glass and a protective paint sealant. It removes the bonded red dust, brake dust and mineral spotting a drive-through wash cannot touch, and we perform it at your location anywhere in the Verde Valley.

Why Hand Washing Matters Here

Sedona's red soil is iron-rich and abrasive. When a tunnel wash drags spinning brushes loaded with the last customer's grit across your clear coat, that grit acts like sandpaper — which is why so many Verde Valley vehicles show fine circular swirl marks under direct sun. Every step we perform is contact-controlled: fresh media, clean water, and a wash method built to lift dirt away from the paint instead of grinding it in.

The Exterior Process

  1. Pre-rinse and foam

A thick pH-neutral foam dwells on the panel to soften and lift loose grit before anything touches the surface.

  2. Wheels, tires and wells first

Wheels are the dirtiest part of the vehicle and get dedicated tools and cleaners so brake dust never migrates onto clean paint.

  3. Two-bucket contact wash

Separate wash and rinse buckets with grit guards, top-down, with the mitt rinsed between panels.

  4. Iron and clay decontamination

An iron remover dissolves embedded brake and rail dust, then clay shears off whatever is still bonded to the clear coat.

  5. Safe dry

Filtered forced air for panel gaps and mirrors, plush microfiber for the surfaces.

  6. Protection

A paint sealant goes down for UV and contaminant resistance, trim is dressed, tires get a clean satin finish, glass is finished streak-free.

What It Fixes

Rough, gritty paint

If your paint feels like fine sandpaper after washing, that is bonded contamination. Clay removes it and the surface goes glass-smooth.

Door panels and jambs wiped down during a detail

Red dust in every seam

Door jambs, fuel doors, mirror housings and grille slats get cleaned individually, not just rinsed past.

Brake dust etching

Wheel faces and barrels are cleaned properly before hot brake dust can etch permanently into the finish.

Dull, unprotected finish

Sealant restores gloss and gives the paint a sacrificial layer against high-altitude UV.

Exterior Detailing FAQs

Everything you need to know before you book.

A car wash removes loose surface dirt. Exterior detailing removes bonded contamination that washing leaves behind — iron particles, rail dust, and overspray — then protects the paint afterward. It is the difference between rinsing a plate and actually scrubbing it.
Our method is built specifically to avoid it: foam pre-soak, two-bucket wash with grit guards, fresh microfiber per section, and forced-air drying for panel gaps. Most swirl marks we see were introduced by automatic washes, not by hand detailing.
For most Verde Valley drivers, every three to four months keeps contamination from bonding permanently. Vehicles parked outdoors year-round or driven on dirt roads benefit from a shorter interval.
No. Our setup is fully self-contained and carries its own deionized water, which is why we can work at trailheads, job sites, offices and homes on well water without touching your utilities or your electricity.
In most cases yes. Fresh mineral deposits come off with a dedicated acidic treatment. Spots that have already etched into the clear coat need machine polishing, which falls under paint correction — we will tell you which one you are dealing with before we start.
